Guidance/Student Services News for all Grade 9 Students!

O2 Applications:  All O2 Applications are due in to Ms. Smith's office on/before March 31st at 9am.  Please see Ms. Smith if you need assistance filling it out.

The students will pick their courses on Power School March 30th  2015.  Parents and students can make changes until April 1st, 2015.

GBJH school yearbooks will go on sale in a pre-order starting Wednesday, January 21st, for a cost of $25 paid in cash or cheque payable to GBJH to homeroom teachers. Pre-orders will be collected until April 23rd, 2015

If you do not pre-order, then your copy will not be created

 

Ball Hockey:  Spring League Ball Hockey teams are posted outside Ms. Smith's office and in Mr. Deveau's room.  The first games will be next Tuesday with Team Deveaux vs. Team Leal AND Team Crabbe vs. Team McHugh

For Parents of Teens

You will find out you are not alone in your feelings and frustrations -- all parents have some struggles with teens!  A comfortable group setting is a great way to relieve your stress, get information, share with others, get new skills, and learn how to better deal with your teen/s.  Believe it or not, sometimes the changes you can make are pretty simple, and make a huge difference in your family life.

Topics include:

How to make YOUR life happy

Sorting out who owns the problems

Communication skills

Asserting your rights

Negotiating agreements

Taking action when agreements don’t work.
